Blueberry Cobbler

One of my favorite summer time homemade deserts is cobbler, especially blueberry cobbler. Here’s a recipe that my grandma used to make Blueberry Cobbler. You could use this recipe to make any kind of fruit cobbler, just substitute the blueberries with any kind of fruit you want, easy!

Here’s the Blueberry Cobbler recipe:

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 2/3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 2 cups of blueberries (or other fruit)

Instructions

You being by cooking the blueberries (or other fruit) in a saucepan along with 2/3 a cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of water. Cook it on medium for a few minutes to soften up the blueberries but make sure that you do not over cook them or burn them. After this, set this mixture aside.

Next, you melt the stick of butter in a baking dish by placing it in an oven at 350 degrees.

While the butter is melting, mix the rest of the sugar, the milk and the flour together so as to make a thin batter. When the butter has melted throughly in the baking pan and the pan is hot, pull it from the oven and quickly pour in the batter and then pour the blueberry mixture onto that. You don’t want to stir it, just allow it to blend naturally.

Some people do this a little different by pouring in the blueberry mixture first and the batter on top. This will give you a crust on top but I like the batter mixed throughout better.

Now, you bake it at 350 degrees until done, usually about 25 minutes. Then you’ll have a delicious Blueberry Cobbler.
