I was watching some of the Burn Notice marathon and I liked the line about staying in a motel where everyone is about one jello shot away from alcohol poisoning. So, I thought I’d tell you How to Make Jello Shots.

Here’s the deal with Jello Shots. I recommend sticking with flavors that most people like, such as Cherry, Lime or Lemon, and staying away from the more exotic flavors, they don’t mix as well, or kiddy flavors, people will avoid them. I also recommend using cheap vodka. Yes, cheap vodka. You aren’t making a delicate martini for someone to linger over here, after all. You’re making something that people will slurp down quickly. I think that 3 ounce plastic bathroom cups work a lot better than paper ones.

You make the Jello for your Jello Shots just like regular Jello. Nothing special there, just make sure you do it right. Once the Jello is blended properly, add in the vodka. I suggest a 3 to 1 ratio but you can go higher or lower depending on how potent you wish to make them. I’ve found that using a ladle to put the liquid Jello/Vodka mixture into the plastic cups works the best. Just make sure the solution has cooled enough so that the plastic cups don’t melt. Oh, and also, don’t overfill the cups. Go with about 3/4 full.

Now, all you have to do is chill your Jello Shots and they’ll be ready to serve come party time.
